Pierre Ieong (pronounced “Young”) is a writer-director and independent producer based in New York City, with roots in Paris and Macao. He is the founder of Film Follies, a production company dedicated to bold, auteur-driven cinema and artist-led commercial content.

As a producer, Pierre champions creative voices in cross-cultural narratives, and boundary-pushing independent films. His narrative producing credits include Man Made Lake (dir. Annie Ning), in competition in the Orizzonti Short Films section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, and Strawberry Shortcake (dir. Deborah Devyn Chuang), winner of the VIFF Short Forum Award, and screened at Sitges, Fantastic Fest, and Fantasia.
 

As a director, Pierre directed Flake, selected at Out On Film, Medium Rare, and Through the Eyes of Yves, and is currently in post-production on O. He also directed Djinn Under Contract, a Crazy Maple Studio vertical drama currently streaming on ReelShort. His commercial work includes projects for Apple, Hermès, and Chanel Fine Jewelry.
 

Fluent in five languages, Pierre specializes in international co-productions spanning France, the United States, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. He holds an MFA in Film from Columbia University, a Certificate in International Co-Producing & Financing from La Fémis, and a degree in French Law from Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas. Outside of filmmaking, Pierre is an avid enthusiast of musical theatre and can spend hours talking about cars.
